Day late 12.24.8

I can't believe I forgot Festivus. Funny that the year end review took place the same day.

As for the Packers/Bears game, I shut it off when the kicked the field goal to go up 17-10. By going for it on 4th and 1 and converting to a new set of downs at the 7 I would expect a touchdown. As soon as the passes fell incomplete, incomplete, incomplete, FG, I knew the game was lost.

The Marquette/NC State game was entertaining to watch. Clutch 3 point with .4 seconds left. Somehow they converted the inbound and turn around at the top of the key just a couple of seconds late. Big road win as they will probably get destroyed against the Big East foes.

Lucky I am in one piece 12.22.8

It sure was a challenge bringing in my cupcakes and rice krispy treats for the pot luck at work. Twice I took a spill with the tray and wouldn't have brought them in if I fell a third time, because chances are I would have had a broken arm. Just a brutal walk with the ice and snow.

Rain snow warm cold 12.17.8

A difficult game to watch last night. Sure Marquette hung around for most of the game at Tennessee, but the fouls were too much to overcome. Matthews was a scoring machine, the rest of the team was not, and it seemed every possession the refs found something to blow the whistle for. No flow, no size match up and a road environment to contribute to pulling of an upset. We'll wait for the Big East teams to pick apart this NIT bound team.

Up next Houston 12.2.8

No chance at the playoffs this year. The Packers will be off in January, since they lost to Carolina when they should have won. I'm not sure the defense bothered showing up in the last 2 minutes as it took Carolina less than 10 seconds to move the length of the field. Nice chance to win the game at the goal line, but rather kick the FG?!?

Certainly doesn't feel like December. More like September.

Best part of Thanksgiving besides the day off from work, eating with family, watching football is the LEFTOVERS!

Phillies in the World Series 10.16.8

We are living in the Matrix. At 9:30 AM I shut off the tv after flipping between channels at a certain point in the Matrix movie. When I came home around 9:08 PM I turned on the tv at the EXACT same spot it left of in the movie. No I do not own a TIVO or DVR to stop the action. Just a little freaky. But I doubt that some big black dude or hot actress (Laurence Fishburne (Morpheus) or an above average looking Carrie-Anne Moss (Trinity)) is out there trying to find me.

Philly fans can celebrate, but I don't think they stand a chance against the AL, but I would like to see them finally win a championship. They are SO over due.

Future Humor Consultant 10.2.8

Just a thought:

On the elevator, coming back from lunch, the captive audience had a display about companies hiring humor consultants. I don't think they thought it through about trying to improve morale when some employees might just think the fired employee would be a funnier person. A Happy Birthday! What a finish at the Olympics for Michael Phelps record 7th Gold medal swim. One more to break it. I still can't believe the times and how many break records, but those close, heart stopping touches to win. UNBELIEVABLE!

Crazy 9.92 second run, in the quarterfinals, that makes it look like a walk in the park. I remember when breaking 10 seconds for the 100m was thought to be really really fast. That was max effort but that is more like a training session now.

Boxing, Kayaking, Tennis, Basketball, Softball, Soccer, Track and Field, Swimming, Diving, Archery, Beach Volleyball, Indoor Volleyball, Gymnastics, Greco-Roman Wrestling, Rowing, Cycling, and that crazy weight lifting mistake that goes to show you the elbow bending inwards with 400lbs over your head is NEVER a good thing, are just some of the sports I've seen so far.
